Beaded, bevelled or plain Shaker?

All three designs use a framed outline, but the inner edge changes the character. Traditional Shaker has a plain square edge. Bevelled Shaker uses an angled edge. The beaded option adds a smaller decorative profile around the panel.

Look at the profiles at the same dimensions in the builder before choosing. Detail can feel more prominent on a small cupboard than a tall door. Your final paint colour and handles will also affect the overall appearance.

Coordinate the kitchen fronts

Measure each door and drawer front individually, and record quantities for every size. A shallow drawer may need a slab front where there is insufficient space for a framed centre panel. You can combine different front types in the same order.

Replacing fronts works best when the existing cabinets are in good condition and the layout suits you. Check the fixings, hinges, drawer mechanisms and visible end panels as part of the same project.

Finish and drilling choices
